Starting therapy can feel daunting and reaching out for support takes courage. If you're here, something in your life may feel heavy, confusing, or overwhelming. You might be feeling low or anxious, stuck in familiar patterns, struggling in relationships, grieving a loss, or feeling isolated and alone in what you are going through.
In The Becoming is a calm, compassionate and collaborative space. You'll be met with the safety of a gentle approach filled with empathy, care and understanding.
About Abi
Hello! I'm Abi- an Integrative Counsellor (BA Hons, MBACP) based in Ipswich. I qualified over 10 years ago, and offer professional counselling for adults and young people.

The name 'In the Becoming' reflects my belief that we are all becoming, all of the time. We are growing, unfolding, changing and healing - sometimes painfully, often courageously. I am personally motivated by, and care deeply about becoming everything I was created to be from the beginning. Fully me, always me. I am passionate about creating a space where you can explore what that also means for you, and how that plays out in your every day life- moment by moment.
I have previously worked as a Christian Chaplain in Alternative Provision, offering both therapeutic and pastoral support to teenagers. My faith is an important aspect of my own story and how I choose to live my life. If you are seeking counselling as a Christian and would like to integrate faith into the therapy, I would be happy to incorporate it into our work together. If you have no faith or of another faith, you are equally as welcome here.
Alongside my professional life, I am a wife and Mum to four kids aged 5-15. Some of my hobbies include playing music in orchestras, singing in bands, keeping fit and finding peace in nature. I love being with friends, eating delicious food and finding good coffee.
